Inman Group is hiring a Director of Research to join our company and help launch a new research tier in its subscription model. The ideal candidate will be technically savvy, comfortable working remotely and have extensive experience recruiting, screening, and segmenting audience panels; brainstorming questions and topics for monthly reports; building and managing a team of researchers; as well as working collaboratively with an editorial team to identify topics of core interest to Inman’s readership to build into reports, blog posts, and summaries thereof.

This is a remote work position and can be done from anywhere in North America. The position offers competitive salary and benefits.

Key Responsibilities

Manage all aspects of the company’s research arm and oversee all research work
Recruit, screen, and segment audience panels and perform regular surveys to these panels
Hire and grow a team of researchers
Turn data into insights and tell compelling stories using that data, the essential storytelling piece of this job
Work collaboratively with the Inman editorial team and consultants to identify key topic areas for research reports
Edit and proofread research reports
Provide strategic and/or financial decision support to senior management through ad hoc reporting

Key Skills & Knowledge

5 years experience with a proven track record of delivering research reports of different types, including a range of outputs such as reports, blog posts, and summaries
Proven track record of building and maintaining audience panels
Presentation skills and general comfort with public speaking
Excellent communication skills and willingness to wear many hats
